Volleyballers Scrimmage Against Cardinals and Cavegirls

Last Thursday, the Lady Panthers Volleyball Team participated in a three-round scrimmage in Eunice against the Lady Cardinals and also against the Carlsbad JV Cavegirls. The scrimmages were scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30, with each matchup lasting 30 minutes. Head Coach Gary Simmons said he was pleased with how his team played. He said, “We’re trying to establish what we need to do. It’s the first time I’ve seen them, and I was real happy with how they played, but we’ve got a long way to go. We’re athletic enough to where we can make some good shots. I’m real excited to see how they are two weeks from now.”
The Lady Panthers have been practicing off-season at 9:oo and 11:00 a.m., with some of the girls coming to open gym in the evenings. Official practice starts August 8th, with their first game scheduled at Lovington for Tuesday August 19th.
