Superintendent emphasizes bond will not increase tax rate

PRESS RELEASE from Jal Public Schools 10/24/23

Jal Public Schools is seeking the support of the community at the November 7th election. We are seeking permission to use funds that have already been collected under the 2015 Bond. Tax rates from the school district will not increase. Last year’s mil rate was $0.00.(That is not a typo) Passing this bond will not increase the tax rate. These overcollections are from oil and gas revenues. These funds will be used for a new elementary addition, an auditorium renovation, a junior high addition, and various athletic improvements. Jal is very fortunate to be in this position so we want to take advantage of it and get our facilities into great shape for generations of students to come.
