Panthers lose to Hobbs

At the Babe Ruth Baseball Field this past Tuesday night, the Jal Panthers lost to the Hobbs JV Team. The JHS Baseball Team has had a tough start to the season, with a record of 0-4 according to MaxPreps.com. Javier Santillan is batting 0.500, Gabriel Juarez 0.429, Luke Guinn 0.375, Fernando Sauceda, Cash Taylor, and C. Diaz each batting 0.333, Adam Juarez 0.250, Zadyn Lujan 0.200, and S. Arroyo 0.143. The team has been working hard to come together and improve over the last several seasons, and shows promise, but still has plenty of room for improvement. The coaching staff continues to work hard to develop the team. The fan base coming out to the home games is enthusiastic, with a good turnout. The Panthers scored 10 runs to Kermit’s 20 on March 11th, 0 to Portales’ 17 on March 21st, and did their best against Texico, scoring 9 runs to the Wolverines’ 15. Gateway Christian defeated the Panthers on March 23rd by a score of 24-4. They play Grady (1-0) next Monday, April 1st.
