On April 18th the Jal High School Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 13 new members.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization that recognizes and honors high school students who excel academically and demonstrate excellence in character, leadership, and service. Students typically become eligible for NHS during their sophomore or junior year, with a minimum GPA requirement (usually 3.5 or higher).
NHS focuses on four core values:
1. Scholarship (academic achievement)
2. Service (community involvement and volunteer work)
3. Leadership (initiative and positive influence)
4. Character (integrity, respect, and responsibility)
NHS membership offers opportunities for leadership development, community service projects, college and scholarship applications, and networking with like-minded students.
