Favorite part of high school: My favorite part of high school has been the friendships I have, all the hangouts, the laughs in class, and being there for each other. Being involved in track has been my favorite part of high school too. All the practices and meets are what I always looked forward to. Overall, my personal growth has been the most meaningful part. High school challenged me in ways I never expected. I learned about who I am and want to become.
Biggest positive influences: The biggest positive influences in my life have been my parents. I wouldn’t be who I am today without their support. They are always there for me when I need them. They have showed me what it means to work toward a goal with dedication and always encouraged me to follow my passions.
Favorite Teacher: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Savoie. She would take her time to connect with each of us, both as students and people. Mrs. Savoie always had a kind demeanor with all her students and made her learning engaging.
Plans after high school: After high school, I plan to attend college to pursue a career as a skilled and compassionate cardiac sonographer. My journey into this field was inspired by my own personal experience with a heart problem and surgery, that is now cured. I want to save as many patients from serious heart conditions, and be there for them.
Parents: Mariza Ramirez, Paulo Soto
Advice to younger students: As a senior, my advice to the younger students is to truly cherish every single moment. High school feels like it will last forever when you’re in it, but looking back, it passes by really fast, that you wish you can just have a little bit more time left. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. There will be hard days. Days when you feel stressed and overwhelmed. Days when friendships will change, plans won’t always work out, or you doubt yourself. Those days won’t define you, but they will shape you and help you grow as a person. It’s okay to make mistakes and not have everything figured out yet. What matters is that you learn and keep going. Always stay on top of your work and never be afraid to ask for help. Most importantly enjoy every moment, even the smallest ones. Don’t rush it. Create lifelong memories with the people you love and your classmates, memories that will stay in your heart forever. Go to all the games, proms, homecomings, every event you can. In the end it’s not just the grades or trophies that you’ll remember, it’s the people, the experiences, and the way you felt.
