Lady Panthers dominate Hagerman

Tuesday night in Panther Gym, the Lady Panthers faced off against the Hagerman Lady Bobcats. The Lady Panthers started out aggressively and pulled ahead 11-3 early on. After a timeout, the Lady Bobcats turned their earlier lackluster performance into a very effective game. With 2:30 remaining in the first period, the Lady Panthers led 13-10. The Lady Panthers were able to regain their momentum in the last minute and a half of the first, and by the end of the first period, they led the Lady Bobcats 19-13. The early part of the second period was a little better for the Lady Bobcats, though the Jal girls still stayed ahead. With 4:46 remaining in the second, Jal retained their lead 26-19. The Lady Bobcats then began to lose what momentum they had had, and with 1:15 remaining in the second period, Jal led 34-22. At halftime, the score was 34-23. The third period went back and forth a bit, with the Lady Panthers remaining ahead. At the beginning of the fourth, Jal led 46-32. The first part of the fourth period was better for the Lady Bobcats than it was for the Lady Panthers, with 4 minutes remaining in the game, Hagerman had pulled to within 5 points of Jal, 44-49. The Lady Panthers then got back in the groove, beginning to putting points on the board again and regaining a good lead. The final score was Jal 57, Hagerman 46.
