Lady Panthers Beat Lady Cardinals

Tuesday night in the Panther Gym, the Jal Junior High Lady Panthers took on their arch rivals, the Lady Cardinals. The game started out slow, with the Lady Panthers moving ahead 6-2 early on, though momentum stalled for the Lady Panthers after the first half of the first period.

The Lady Cardinals tied the game up at 6 with 5 minutes remaining in the second period, and then proceeded to move ahead 8-6 half a minute later with an unchallenged layup. At halftime, the Lady Cardinals had a very slim lead over the Lady Panthers, 10-9.

By the end of the third period, the Lady Cardinals had reduced the Lady Panthers’ lead to just two points, 16-14. Unfortunately for the Lady Cardinals, they absolutely failed to make any points in the fourth period, while the Lady Panthers fought hard and came away with a final score of 24-14.
