JV Panthers Struggle vs Compass Academy

Tuesday evening in the Panther Gym, the JHS JV Boys team took on the Cougars of Compass Academy Charter School in Odessa. The Cougars were a visibly much taller team, and demonstrated much better skills at ball-handling, dribbling, shooting, and stealing the ball than the Panthers. At halftime, the Cougars were leading 35-17. By the end of the third period, the Cougars had extended their lead somewhat to 50-24. The Panthers showed some spunk in the fourth period, gaining 16 points to their opponents’ 10, steadily narrowing the lead. The final score was 60-40.
