JAL WEATHER

Jessica Rodriguez

Sports/Activities: National Honor Society, Veterans Day Ceremony, Softball, and Academic Team.

Favorite part of high school: My favorite experience was meeting new people, I wasn’t very social before beginning high school and high school taught me more social skills.

Biggest positive influences: My parents have been very supportive throughout my high school years and especially these past two school years, since we moved states which has been a bit rough not knowing nearly anyone from Jal. Changing from a city to a small town where I don’t know anyone, definitely hit hard. Also, Mr. Willmon shared some motivating talks with me throughout last school year, reminding me that I am intelligent and should reach for what I propose myself to do in life and I appreciate that my teacher noticed my effort and capabilities.

Favorite Teacher: My favorite teacher was Coach McWilliams because he would take the time to communicate with his students, creating a comfortable environment. It was also the first time I started to fully understand History class and the ways we studied before tests was very helpful and fun rather than being a typical, boring study sheet.

Plans after high school: College

Parents: Mario Rodriguez and Jessica Rodriguez

Advice to younger students: Take advantage of every opportunity and education the school gives you. Also, use class time to do your assignments because it is crucial you stay caught up with the rest of the class.
