Jal Schools Hosts Staff Awards Banquet

Monday evening in the Junior High School Gym, Jal School District held its annual Staff Awards Banquet. An estimated crowd of a hundred staff and spouses attended, with excellent dining on barbeque brisket, pork, and pulled pork. The JHS Culinary Department prepared fantastic desserts, including homestyle banana pudding, chocolate pudding cups, and cookies. Guests were given tickets when registering, and all got to select prizes when their number was called. The theme for the night was “The Wild West” and most dressed up in their fanciest duds for the occasion. Barbie Lujan did an outstanding job on the décor.

Staff who were recognized and received awards for their years of service included (five years) Lindsay Doom, Deina Inglet, Christy Little, Taylah Mata, Gina Muniz, Shelby Norton , Lyzette Ramirez, Crystal Tavarez, Gabriela Zavala, and Samarya Peugh; (ten years) Antoinette Trevino; (fifteen years) Victoria Douglas; and (twenty years) Judy Green.
