Sports/Activities: My freshman year I did track, basketball, and powerlifting. I’ve done powerlifting since my 8th grade year. I joined cheer my senior year. My sophomore year I joined student council and I’ve been president for the last two years. I also have been in National Honor Society since my sophomore year.
Favorite part of high school: My favorite part of my high school experience has been getting involved in different school activities and making memories with my friends. I’ve really enjoyed spending time with my friends, going to school events, and just making the most out of these years. Being involved in cheer and powerlifting has also been a big part of my high school experience. Cheer has taught me a lot about teamwork, confidence, and supporting others. Powerlifting has helped push me to work harder and become stronger both mentally and physically. I’ve also enjoyed being a part of NHS and student council. These groups have given me the chance to be more involved in my school and help out when I can. Overall, high school has helped me grow a lot as a person. Through my classes, activities, and the people I’ve met, I’ve learned how to be more responsible and work toward my goals while making great memories along the way.
Biggest positive influence: There have been many people who have had a positive influence on my life, but the biggest influence has to be my mom. She has pushed me to be better every day and has taught me to be a kind and selfless person. She has shown me that with effort and determination, anything can be accomplished.
Favorite Teacher: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Savoie because she has been there for me since freshman year. She has always helped me with my schoolwork and made sure I understood the material. What I appreciate most about her is that she is always willing to listen when I need to talk about things that aren’t school related. Mrs. Savoie always pushed me to try harder and believe in myself, even when I doubt my abilities. Because of her support and kindness, she has made a big impact on my high school experience.
Plans after high school: My plans after high school is going to the JC to get my associate degree then transfer to a university and study criminology.
Parents: Vanessa Aguilar and Roman Sandoval
Advice to younger students: My advice is don’t procrastinate, waiting until last minute makes everything way more stressful than it needs to be.
