Don Waymon Green, age 83, of Jal NM, passed away on March 4, 2026. Don was born March 23, 1942, in Collins, Arkansas, to Laverne Irene Jones and Robert Thurman Green. He met Carolyn Cole, the love of his life, in Eunice NM and they married on October 8, 1960.
Don built a long and respected career as a pipeliner, dedicating many years of hard work in the field, and was known for his strong work ethic. He was also a devoted Master Mason, valuing the brotherhood and principles it represented.
An avid hunter, Don felt most at home outdoors. Whether in the Pecos wilderness at sunrise or gathered with family and friends around a fire afterward, he was always ready with a joke or a well-told story. He had a gift for making people laugh and a way of turning everyday moments into memories. His stories, sometimes long, often embellished, always entertaining, will be retold for generations. His laughter was contagious and his presence filled a room.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, his parents, and his brother Frank Raybon. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Dianne Martin and husband Richard, Debbie Stokes and husband Brian, Donna Volz and husband Hans; granddaughter Nikki Springer and husband JT, grandson Zach Stokes and wife Kasey, granddaughter Rachelle Reyes and husband Justin; great-grandchildren Hadly Springer, Hudson Springer, Maverick Stokes, Mason Stokes, Joseph Reyes, and Zelie Reyes; brothers Larry Green and wife Joyce, Lynn Raybon and wife Deena, Kenneth Raybon and wife Lynda; aunts Marilyn Cox and Betty Clampitt; numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins. He leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his stories, his humor, and his steady spirit. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his love for his family, and his devotion to the outdoors. His legacy lives on in the stories shared and the family who carries his memory forward.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am March 23, 2026, at Crescent Park Baptist Church, 3002 E University, Odessa TX 79762, officiated by Dr. Michael McGuire. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the Shriners Hospital for Children or to your favorite charity.
