A Super Heroic Christmas Play
By John Earp
Wednesday evening, the young people of Jal Church of God performed their Christmas Play, with an interesting twist—superheroes, including Superman, Spiderman, Hulk, Batman, Catwoman, and Wonder Woman, came to Christ, first because they were worried they would lose their jobs, but then finally, they got a glimpse of the gospel brought to the world by the birth of Jesus Christ. Other parts of the play included a 35-voice choir singing “Joy to the World” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” as well as a choreographed worship drama. Chloe Earp played Mary and also did a choreographic worship drama to “Mary Did You Know?” Urijah Maes played Joseph. Lyndzy Herrera gave a wonderful acapella performance of the classic, “O Holy Night,” as well as a shepherd. Adian Compton played Superman, Paisley Faulker played Wonder Woman, Elijah Earp played the Incredible Hulk, Kai Porras played Batman, BryLeigh Ruiz played Catwoman, and Emma Sandoval played Spider Woman.
The Christmas Program was directed by Andrea May, with Adriana Faulkner assisting. The young people regularly practiced for several weeks to prepare for the performance of the play.
