Oil & Gas Students Present to School Board

Last Monday at the November meeting of the Jal School Board, the Jal High School Oil & Gas Class gave a presentation to the board as well as non-board members present, including Principal Karen Komar, Principal Nathan Richard, Principal Buddy Little, and representatives from Lasco Construction.

Topics covered in the students’ presentation included details concerning all aspects of oil & gas exploration, drilling, completion and installing equipment to transport oil & gas, production phase, refining and distribution, to the decommissioned site restoration stage. Students also presented on renewable energy, such as wind turbines, design, planning and manufacturing, transportation and installation, operation, and decommissioning. The Oil & Gas Class is designed to introduce highs school students to the basics of the Oil & Gas Industry, with the goal of preparing students to be able to work in that sector of the economy.
