Xavier Lopez Martinez Sr.

Xavier Lopez Martinez Sr., age 53, left this life on November 6, 2025 in San Angelo. He was born on Wednesday, September 27, 1972 in Kermit, TX to Carlos and Josefa (Lopez) Martinez.

Xavier was a hard worker with a big personality and was always the life of the party. He loved to ride his Harley, play pool at Lisa’s Bar in San Angelo, and he was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. He was known as “X” man to friends and family; with that name carrying over to his handyman business, “X” Man Services. He was also known as “Superman” to his kids and step-kids. Xavier will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his partner: Yesenia Armendariz of Kermit; sons: Xavier Martinez Jr and partner Jackie and Fabian Martinez, all of Jal, NM; stepson: Oscar Ortiz and wife Michelle of Kermit, Tx; daughter: Myranda Martinez of Jal, NM; stepdaughter: Karime Zubia and husband Bryan of Monahans, TX; brother: Gilbert Martinez and wife Carol of Jal, NM; sisters: Irma Martinez and spouse Daniel Gonzalez of Andrews, TX and Sylvia Navarrete and husband Filimon of Odessa, TX; half-sister: Corina Lason of New Mexico; and grandchildren: Xavier III, Michael, Gabriel, Ezekiel, Kamilah, Dakota, Dante, Sky, Zailynn, Brayden, Khaleesi, Alizay, Avryan, and Alekza.

Xavier was preceded in death by his parents: Carlos and Josefa Martinez; grandmothers: Priscillana Lopez and Maxmilliana Martinez; and half-brother: Carlos Martinez.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Family Services Funeral Chapel at 1 pm. A rosary will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 7 pm at Family Services Funeral Parlor in Kermit. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm MST on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal. Burial will follow at Jal Cemetery. Pallbearers are Xavier Martinez Jr., Fabian Martinez, Jordan Martinez, Gilbert Martinez Sr., Gilbert Martinez Jr., and Bryan Zubia. Honorary pallbearers are Oscar Ortiz and Filimon Navarrete Jr.
