
Jerre Layne Antley
Jerre Layne Antley, age 88, of Jal, NM passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 in Odessa, TX. Jerre was born on June 25, 1937 in Natchitoches, LA to Robert Lee and Florence Elve (Robbins) Jones. She married Alvin Lee Antley on May 7, 1955 in Natchitoches and they celebrated 70 years together.
Jerre was an active member of the 1st Baptist Church of Jal. One of her biggest loves was being a mother and grandmother. She spent many hours traveling all over the state supporting her “kids” with all their sports and activities. Jerre loved to grow plants and flowers, which she made Alvin water. Often, she could be found working on her hobbies. She loved to cook, decorate cakes, and crochet. Jerre had a reputation as a first-class seamstress and could make almost anything with her sewing skills. When she was not doing things around the house, Jerre loved to go camping and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Florence Jones; son: Tracy Antley; brother: Bobby Jones; and sister: Ruby Jane Jones
She is survived by her husband: Alvin Antley of Jal, NM; son: Larry Antley and wife Cendy of Georgetown, TX; daughter: Kelly Elliott and husband Billy of Jal, NM; grandchildren: Jeremy and wife Ali, Rebekah, Rachel, Aaron, and Lauren; great-grandchildren: Cameron, Kyndell, Kyra, Luke, Maddox, and Maeve.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 MST on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Jal Cemetery officiated by Jodi O’Briant. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Freddy Ragain, Gooser Armstrong, Johnny Mac Owen, Cameron Briones, Aaron Elliott, Jerry McNeese, Bobby Burkett, and her church family.
