Panther Girls’ Track places at state

Last weekend at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, the Jal Panthers Track Team competed at the New Mexico Activities Association 2A State Track Meet. At the state meet, Natalia Rivera placed 2nd in long jump at 16’3-1/2.” The 4 x 400 Girls Relay Team, composed of Olivia Ramirez, Anna Ross, Natalia Rivera and Mayrin Nieto placed 4th in state. Natalia Rivera placed 5th in the 100-meter run. Mayrin Nieto placed 6th in the 400-meter run. In the 4×200-meter relay, the team of Camila Baeza, Mayrin Nieto, Natalia Rivera, and Anna Ross took 2nd place. In the sprint medley relay, the team composed of Camila Baeza, Natalia Rivera, Anna Ross and Olivia Ramirez placed 4th. In the 4×400-meter relay, the team of Olivia Ramirez, Anna Ross, Natalia Rivera, and Mayrin Nieto placed 4th.

Panther Track Team members who participated but did not place in the state meet included David Gaytan (javelin), Jose Valenzuela (100M), Adriana Orozco (discus), Aaliyah Gaytan (javelin), Issela Mendoza (shotput), Bianca Eddings (shotput), Valeria Acosta (high jump) and Abby Dardon (high jump). Emily Acosta also competed but did not place in the long jump.
